What is the value of a computational study without knowing what is critical and what accuracy you can expect from a computational study?
Did you ever perform an experiment of what was modeled and did you wonder the differences?
Which result do you believe: the experimental or the computational?
This new one day course will show you the best way to model your thermal problems. It is taught by the experts from OTS, who have knowledge about all ins- and outs of thermal modeling and experimental testing. The course will be a combination of theory, computational and experimental modeling. The computational studies will be done with 6SigmaET from Future Facilities, but you can also bring your own software package and check how well this correlates with the experimental tests or your own problem statements.
A basic understanding of thermal management is required and (some) experience with computational modeling is recommended.
Course Outline:
- How to model your problem in CFD, determine what is important
- Importing of MCAD data, determine what detail is required
- Boundary conditions
- Gridding
- Radiation on or off
- Tips and Tricks for CFD and experimental modeling
- Analytical calculations
- Computation modeling exercises
- Experimental modeling exercises
